Daygon07: What's up, game geeks and tech junkies? Welcome to A Gaming Moment, a weekly podcast about everything gaming and streaming-related, including news, tech, and the software behind it. Be sure to follow us on TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram so you can engage with us and find out when we're streaming the podcast. Get a first listen before it goes out across all of your favorite podcasting platforms. I'm Daygon07, and with me, as always, is WildTwinsFan. How the hell are you? It's been a hot minute.

WildTwinsFan: Yeah, I'm doing good. Doing good. I'm doing better than Nel tonight. Nel's down and out with some voice issues, so he's not joining us. We'll keep it light tonight. We'll talk a little about what we've been up to and some topics we'll follow up on in the next couple of episodes. I've been pretty busy, but not crazy busy, unlike you. So, what’s been up with you?

Daygon07: Yeah, it's been crazy. I moved, so I've been in this new house for about a month now. I also changed jobs about a month ago, so right after moving, I had a job change. With the move, my setup has changed. When we stream the next podcast, you'll see the new office and studio setup. It's still a work in progress—got a couple more things to do, like adding a wall and updating some gear. I'll be picking up a Magnus Pro XL with all the goodies. My headphones broke last Thursday, so I'll be getting new studio-style headphones instead of gaming ones.

WildTwinsFan: Yeah.

Daygon07: Just because I think it's time for an upgrade. I'm also considering getting a Stream Deck with the new Wave XLR attachment from Elgato. Not 100% sold yet, but I'm thinking about it, along with a new camera, the Canon R50, to switch to the R series for better streaming quality. My current M50 has an overlay output.

WildTwinsFan: So fair to say life's been pretty good, and you're getting the office you always needed and deserved. You're not stuck in the corner of the family room anymore, so yeah, that's super nice.

Daygon07: Yeah, yeah. We have some family in town, and my current office doesn't have a wall. I'm in the "formal dining room," which can be converted to an office, but we didn't choose that option. So if there's a bit of background noise now and in the next few episodes, I apologize—the house echoes a lot. But updates are coming. I haven't had much time to play games, but I tried a new game called The Finals. It's an arena-style first-person shooter with different modes, like a three-man team and a five-man team.

WildTwinsFan: Yep.

Daygon07: One of the modes is like King of the Hill, but I forget the name of the other. I've been playing with the three-man team. I met a new gaming buddy, my new next-door neighbor. So, it's been cool to expand the community and learn about more games. What about you?

WildTwinsFan: Not a whole lot, just the usual. I've been playing PUBG, COD, and tried Grey Zone Warfare. It's still in alpha and a bit janky, but intense. It's not really my thing, but after playing PUBG and COD for years, I wanted to try something different. I also tried Body Cam, which is different from any other game I've played. It's more realistic, and the movement feels a bit janky. The guns are obscenely loud, which is realistic but too much for gaming. I also tried XDefiant. It's supposed to be the COD killer, but I don't see it yet. It lacks a hardcore mode or a single-life mode like Search and Destroy. So, it feels like rinse and repeat—die and repeat. I played some CSGO with friends, and yeah, I got humbled.

Daygon07: CSGO is one of those games.

WildTwinsFan: Yeah, people have a 20-year head start on me. The game hasn't changed much, and many CSGO players moved to Valorant, which is similar but with magic abilities. It's tough to catch up when people have the maps memorized. It's still a good, solid game, but incredibly toxic, like OG Modern Warfare 2 levels of toxicity.

Daygon07: Yeah.

WildTwinsFan: You need thick skin to play these games. It doesn't bother me, but yeah, it's been fun. I've been upgrading my SIM rig. I got a nice aluminum profile cockpit and triple monitors, added a fourth, and am working on a wind simulator. I have bass shakers and a two-pedal setup. The rig's coming along nicely. The major piece I'm missing is a better wheel, and maybe better pedals. I'm planning on doing some streams with the SIM rig, and I got the Elgato Green Screen XL. It's much better than the normal version. I've also been dabbling in 3D printing with a Bamboo Labs Carbon X1. It's been fun learning and experimenting, though I don't have many friends who are into 3D printing.

Daygon07: It's a very niche hobby. Some people lack the creativity to figure out things to print that they need or that are legal to print.

WildTwinsFan: Yeah, but it's amazing what you can do. I've printed functional items like a bobby pin holder for my wife and mounts for my haptic pedals. Someone designed them, and for $4, it was worth it. My son and I joined a virtual fishing league, which has been fun. I've been sharing some of that on Instagram. We might go out fishing this weekend. The weather's been rough—either rainy or extremely hot. I was talking to you while you were on vacation in Florida, and it was actually hotter here in Minnesota than on the beach there.

Daygon07: Yeah, I was sitting at like 85 or 87, and it was 92, 93 where you were.

WildTwinsFan: And humid as fuck.

Daygon07: Yeah, I was in Pensacola, Florida, just chilling on the beach, and you're like, "It's fucking hot here. I want snow. I want to go ice fishing."

WildTwinsFan: People think it's cold here, but it gets hot too. It's crazy.

Daygon07: Yeah, a couple of other things I'm actually looking forward to. I think I'm going to pick up the Elgato teleprompter.

WildTwinsFan: Oh, yeah.

Daygon07: It'll really help with my YouTube channel. My wife has shown a lot of interest in helping me build it and wants to be a part of it. It's something we can do together, whether it's for our food channel—I have one called Destination Yum that I haven't really touched since starting it—or other content. She wants to start doing cooking recipes, restaurant reviews, recipe reviews, and even some food challenges or taste tests.

WildTwinsFan: Yep.

Daygon07: So, I'm looking forward to getting into that. And I can't believe I forgot to mention this earlier in the episode—I picked up the Quest 3, man!

WildTwinsFan: Yup.

Daygon07: I'm finally up to date, and it's a game-changer. If you have a Quest 2, it's worth the investment to get the Quest 3.

WildTwinsFan: Is it?

Daygon07: I think so. The speed increase for downloads and stuff is 100% worth it. The full-color pass-through is really nice. I also prefer the design and feel of the hand controllers. For me, the upgrade was justified just by the improvements in speed and usability.

WildTwinsFan: Oh, yeah, it's light-years better.

Daygon07: So, for those reasons, it was worth the investment. I ended up giving the Quest 2 to my younger kids since they had already started experiencing stick drift on the handhelds.

WildTwinsFan: Yeah, they're notorious for that. I don't know if that's something your kids caused necessarily. Overall, I agree the Quest 3 is great, but if you already have a Quest 2, it might not be worth the $400-$500 upgrade. The screen, speed, resolution, and sound are all better, but the facial interface was uncomfortable for me. I had to adjust that. So, if upgrading is a big purchase for you, and you have a Quest 2, it might not be worth it. But if you have the money and want an upgrade, the Quest 3 is a worthy option.

Daygon07: I should note that I got mine for a good deal—Best Buy had it for $300, and I also got a Pelican case for it, which was cheaper than the Meta Quest case. So, I felt it was a good investment.

WildTwinsFan: Yeah, you did well. But if you have a Quest 2, you're not missing much with the Quest 3 unless you're looking for an upgrade and have the money. It's a great headset, but not a must-have if you're already content with the Quest 2.

Daygon07: Fair enough. And then, one big exciting announcement to start off Season 7: we've partnered with a new AI clipping platform called Cut Labs. They’re really cool, and I'll run a promo for it in a minute. But what sets them apart from other AI clipping platforms is their focus on TikTok content creation. They automatically align your camera screen with the game and crop everything as needed. They also add captions automatically, which is really convenient.

WildTwinsFan: Yeah.

Daygon07: The only downside is you can only connect it to one channel at a time—either Twitch or YouTube—not both. This can be a limitation for those who stream on multiple platforms. I've already given that feedback to the developers, and I have some calls scheduled with them. But what really sets them apart is the "virality score" they provide. They rate clips on a scale, presumably from one to ten, to predict how viral a clip might go. I've only gotten up to a nine, but it's a great feature that helps gauge potential reach.

WildTwinsFan: Not bad.

Daygon07: Definitely not bad. So, I'll roll out with this ad and let you know more about Cut Labs.

WildTwinsFan: Okay.

Daygon07: Unlock the potential of your content with Cut Labs AI. This powerful, free AI tool effortlessly transforms your long-form videos into engaging short clips. WildTwinsFan: Sounds interesting. I haven't actually checked it out yet, so I'll definitely have to take a look.

Daygon07: I've already got the podcast set up with it. So anytime we have video, when we're streaming the podcast on YouTube, we're automatically generating those clips. You'll be able to see them on our TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter—or X, I guess we're calling it now. We post the videos everywhere because it's not just for TikTok.

WildTwinsFan: For sure.

Daygon07: All right.

WildTwinsFan: Moving on, this is kind of the end of the episode for the most part. We do want to talk a little bit about what's coming because we're trying to get back to our weekly episodes. So, we gotta talk about the elephant in the room a little bit.

Daygon07: We have a huge topic.

WildTwinsFan: We'll mention it today: the whole Dr. Disrespect situation. The angles on that, the allegations, and his response. He's on a break currently, but we just got a tweet from him recently. We'll talk about our take on what's going on and what we can see here. We'll just discuss it a little bit.

Daygon07: I knew there was something.

WildTwinsFan: We all knew something was there. But now the allegations have come out, and it's been a gut punch for the community.

Daygon07: Just think it was for the entire community. Like, to be honest, it was way out of left field from what we thought. Right?

WildTwinsFan: Yeah.

Daygon07: Not to get too much into it, but we will post the latest from Doc. It's very cryptic, but it's going to be in the episode description. We highly encourage you to check it out if you don't know. We're also going to share it on our X—I'm not going to call it Twitter anymore—our X. You can call it Twitter or whatever, but we'll share it there. It's a very cryptic post. It's basically Doc sitting in front of a chess/checkerboard. On his side, there are chess pieces, and on the side closest to the viewer, there are checkers pieces. There’s no context other than the implication that he might be saying he's playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers. Some people think he's about to make a big move. So, there's a lot of ways to interpret it. Looking forward to diving into that.

Also, we'll talk about what games we're looking forward to. So, Wild, what games are you excited about?

WildTwinsFan: Right now, I’m really looking forward to Black Ops 6. I haven't seen the multiplayer reveal yet, but I have mixed feelings. Black Ops 2 was my favorite for a long time, but Modern Warfare 2019 might have surpassed it. I still think 2019 is the best of the current COD games, though I'm enjoying Modern Warfare 3. The cheating epidemic is a downside, but that's in almost every game now.

Daygon07: It's the worst in Warzone. That's why I've kind of stopped playing—it’s just ridiculous.

WildTwinsFan: Yeah, we could talk about the cheaters and the tactics they're using. It's a cat-and-mouse game, and no one's ever going to win it. So, I'm looking forward to Black Ops. I also have my eye on HTC 2, which is a big update for Assetto Corsa. The original Assetto Corsa was highly moddable, and people have made amazing mods for it, like driving along the California coast. I'm curious to see if HTC 2 will have mod support and what that means for the game’s future. It could be one of the biggest racing games ever if it hits the right genre.

I've been playing Gray Zone and Body Cam. Ready or Not just released its first DLC, so I might dive into that. It's a punishing but fun game, very immersive. What about you?

Daygon07: I'm looking forward to giving Body Cam a go. I haven't gotten it yet, but I plan to. We might do a co-stream on that, so you'll have to follow us. Another game we need to try is GTFO.

WildTwinsFan: Yeah, we just missed the free weekend on that.

Daygon07: Damn. When you're out of the loop for six months, you miss out on great stuff. We're making a valiant effort to be more consistent and stay more in tune with upcoming gaming news. We love creating content for you guys, and we want to do more YouTube videos, review videos, and our GIST videos—Gaming, Information, Streaming, and Technology. Daygon07: Yep. We’ll get Nel back in here too. He’s been busy and exploring different gaming paths. He even had a cool coincidence running into an old friend, so more to come on that. Thanks for tuning in.
